96 D1 valve job, now no spark????
I just put it all back together after a valve job and now I'm not getting spark. All connections have been made, I'm getting good fuel pressure at the rail. I did not touch the crank or cam shaft sensors or connectors. ANY IDEAS???????????? Tim O.
Welcome Timo!
First of all, your signature suggests you are from The States, AKA, USA. Secondly, a NAS 1996 Discovery is a DII not a DI. It makes a big difference. A 96' DII uses the GEMS engine management system which is distributor less.
Give us a little more info and we can help you out. Why the valve job? The crank sensor connector is connected to the drivers side rear head. It would have to be disconnected in order for the head to be removed on a DII.
Cheers

Valve job was done due to major miss firing.and poor compression due to valves not sealing... Only a couple valves were sealing...Anyway I found that the crank sensor, came unplugged inside the guard...So its good to go.. I'm new to the site and only had the Rover a month sorry about the DI ...DII stuff...First Rover... WAS A JEEP GUY..............Tim

What do you think about a bad crank sensor on this truck?
Mike
SO it is a D1 correct????? The crank sensor isnt bad on mine but the connector some how is messed up and it came unplugged probably while moving around the wiring harness...So I fixed up the connector so it wont pop off on its own, and she fired right up.. Thanks for the suggestions...............Tim
