96 Disco I SE7 Tail Lights/fog light connectors
I bought my 96 Disco I SE7 a year agao and found alot of hidden damage. Hidden to a non-mechanic. The most dificult is the taillights won't turn on. I have turn signals in the back but no tail lights. I have checked all the fuses under the steering column and all fuses are good. At some point somebody installed headlights from a disco II. After a few days of rolling the dice with the wiring, I finally got the signals to work but in the process I had to re-wire everything that was done to connect the DII headlights. Any suggestions to try for my taillights?
I discovered some wire connectors that turned out to be for the fog lights. I connected some wires with male connectors and ran them through a screen at the top of the hood next to the wipers on both sides. Those connectors are used to connect my hellos which are fixed to 200 lb magnet mounts. This seems to work ok since I can place them on my roof only when I need them and I can use the fog light button to turn them off and on. Can this create an electrical problem?

i had to change the plastic piece that holds the light bulb you have to go through the back around the jump seat or what ever else goes there if no jump take a little panel off and just twist out the piece mine was melted together but your lights are hooked together so if ones out the ones after are also... so check the driver side first then the rest might just work. Piece was $20.70 at dealer or $12.68 online at rovers north if you can wait and shipping is cheap
