Fonzy07 - what do you base your diagnosis on, as there is no fuel pressure switch in a Discovery 1?

My issue turned out to be a poor connection to the ECU.
Victim: 96 discovery 4.0 w/ direct ignition.

CLUES:
1. No spark
2. CEL does not come on when key is turned to accessory.
3. Power locks were not working

SOLUTION:
I unplugged the 2 ECU connectors. Painted them with Spark plug boot grease. (conductive grease to bridge gaps, inprove connection, seal out dirt and water.)

Started right up.

Thanks for the post. I never did update this.
I removed the ECU or ECM (same thing different initialism) mine was located right side of engine, between the washer fluid reservoir and the side of compartment. It mounted to the side. It is towards the firewall, above the wheel well.
It was my issue. Major corrosion to the case. It blew my mind how much **** I shook out of it. I could not get the two sided case open due to the corrosion. Anyway removed loose material, brushed the outside down, soaked the whole unit in denatured alcohol for a day, dried it out, sealed it up with silicon (cut q-tips for the breather holes, perfect fit) sprayed it with a couple layers of rubberized undercoating (would have done 100% silicone in hindsight), reinstalled. Fixed it complete. Now for the rust holes in the wheel well.

Did that fix your problem?

The rave manual says the ECU is in the Passenger side kick panel. It is in a green plastic box next to the glove box. That is what I played with.

I know the box you speak of above the fender well. What is it???

I'm pretty sure there is no fuel pressure switch.

There is a fuel temp sensor on the fuel rail.
