Sorry if I missed a thread about this topic somewhere.
I'm in Cape Town, South Africa. I have a chance to buy a lovely single owner 1998 Defender TDI 90 with 165k km, but I'm worried about the rusted bulkhead and footwells.
I'm curious about the costs of replacement of the bulkhead itself. Not even sure where I would source one.
Does anyone have any ball park estimates for me please?
There's a hole on the passenger side behind the dash, and almost a hole in the driver's footwell. The area under the clutch pedal assembly is pretty rusty but not right through.
It might be repairable but I'm imagining that on a 25 year old landy it might be worth the extra effort to get another 25 plus out of her.
