'99 Disco II IMMOBILIZED...HELP!!!
Here we go, I bought a used Disco II and have only had to change the oil pump, everything else is great. I do not have the FOB nor do I have the remote so needless to say, she is on lockdown and I cannot get her started. The closest dealership is 90 minutes away and it is Saturday!!! What do I need to do to get her started again!!!!!!!!!!!!
lock and unlock the doors with the key, watch the alarm led and see what it does. if it stays lit then you are going to at least need a door latch, its not sending the signal to mobilize the vehicle... if it turns off and then after 20 seconds starts to flash every 2 seconds, then passive immobilization is active, and it shouldnt be, any dealer can turn this off, and should do it for free, its a known problem with this car and theres a tech bulletin/service action to fix it, however if this is the case, it should start within those 20 seconds... try it and see what happens
I tried that already and the rapid flashing went immediately to the 2 second flashing. The closest dealer is an hour and a half away. Would they walk me through it over the phone or is there some special tools needed to reset it? Thank you for the response.
