ABS dash light won't come on when starting car?

The ABS dash light om my 1997 discovery doesn't light-up when the car starts. Can't get thru DC inspection until problem is corrected. Mechanic has had vehicle for 4 days. Any suggestions?

Check for a burned out warning bulb.
Is your ABS still working??
