Default advice needed for Disco I

Intake gasket
Front timing cover
Question my friend just got told he has to replace these items to get rid of a coolant leak
He has a 1997 Discovery I
any input would be apreciated

are these difficult to do yourself
what is the timing cover is it the part that hold the oil pump?

I had this issue. Always get ready when the dealer pulls out a bike pump.

I had the same question and asked them to show me everything that had to come off. Essentially, they have to remove everything on the front and top of the engine. The good news is that you'll get to replace all the top side gaskets that are leaking.
