Unhappy Air Suspension Inactive Sign Range Rover 2005 TDV6

We have a 2005 TDV6 Range Rover - having carried a good weight of patio slabs ( may have been over zelous).. we notice that the Air Suspension Inactive sign has come on. When we offloaded the vehicle the suspension on the back rose as high as ever seen it.. when we restarted the car - it went back to normal middle positon.

Problem: The height indicator light stays on and it seems to be locked in the middle positon with the air suspension inactive sign still on. We have turned the lock to the hard left and right and run it having let it cool down but some 3 hours after first noticing this.. it is still the same.. Anyone got any constructive ideas - or point us in right direction ?
