I have been told that the alarm module in the 2004 models is built into the body position module. Any idea how hard to change. Im unsure exactly where it is located. ??
And does it have to be reprorammed to the car or is it just plug and play??

should honk if a door is ajar. that is the obvious question...

 

Give us more information, when does it honk, is the truck locked, is it super locked and are any windows/ sun roof open?

 

dont forget the hood. If the hood is shut properly and in a stiff breeze it will go off.

and if it does go off it might be the switches.

 

I believe it is one of the door sensors the only problem is to diagnose which one it is?? Nearest land rover dealer is 60 miles away.

 

Last place you should go is the dealer, they will try and sell you some new doors to fix a switch problem. Try and find a local shop that has some Rover experience.

I find I have an issue with the back gate. Over time it has sagged on the hinges just enough where I have to slam it to shut it properly, so as not to get the "honk"

 

If you are having a tail gate alignment issue, go get it fixed before it gets worse and really costs you some big $'s.

 

Thanks for the heads-up Mike. It's been one of those nagging problems I keep neglecting to look in to.

Is there an easy fix? New bushings on the hinges? right now it is pretty difficult to open and close without exerting quite a bit of force. My wife has a helluva time even getting it to swing out all of the way.
