Alarm light constantly blinking
Hello Everybody,
Yesterday out of the blue, came out of the supermarket and LR2 (2008) would not start.
Totally nada, zilch, when pressed start button. No messages on dash, nothing.
Got key out, tried lock and unlock, this worked, pressed red triangle, alarm went off, pressed unlock, it stopped. But still would not start. Mate comes along and disconnects battery for 10 mins. Reconnects, it starts but very weak, not firing on all cylinders.
Switched off, started again, and it started fine.
However, the little blinker to the left of steering wheel on instrument panel, the one that blinks when you put alarm on, simply does not stop blinking. And I didn't even put the alarm on!
Press lock once to lock, a second time to activate alarm.
I did not do the second press, yet the light has been blinking ever since.
Afraid to use car (if it even starts now) in case I get stuck.
Our nearest LR dealer is a 10 hour drive away btw.
Any help, as always much appreciated.
Thanks
Pauline

i'm not completely sure on this one , but it sounds like the vehicle's battery was low or going bad...or possibly the battery terminal connections are dirty....check all that first, and does your owners manual say anything specific about replacing the battery and "resetting" the security system ?
Thanks for your reply Xceller8, owners manual no help.
Since that happened it has started every time, however the little blinking light continues to blink all the time when car is stationary/not running?
Guess that isn't a problem, doesn't seem to be?
