Alignment for a DII with rear air suspension
My 2001 Discovery has just toasted a set of tires. The wear is all in the inside tread... the outer tread still looks like it would run another 20,000 miles and bald on the inner with uneven "flaking" wear pattern.
I admit I let the rotation of the tires slack a bit, but all 4 tires are showing the same wear. I had a Discount tire shop do an anlignment 6 months ago and they said everything was within parameters which lead me to believe shocks?
Now I hear from a local Denver area dealership that with the air suspension on the rear I need to let them do the alignment. Do I pay the dealer to ge this right before I slap the new tires on?
I will gladly let the dealership do the alignment if they are the only ones with the "tools" to get it right!??

Take it to dealer to get the alignment checked. Its possible the tire shop doesn't know the difference between a ford explorer or land rover discovery. Plus did the tire shop give you the printout of the alignment. They should. That way the machine will read what vehicle it is and what the actual measurements are supposed to be.
