Anybody Ever Try This Coolant Filler?
This looks like the right tool for Discovery owners:
Has anybody tried this? Might be worth the money once you add up the cost of spilled fluid and excessive bleeding effort for a few rounds of coolant flushing.
Its an essential tool for any vehicle that is difficult to bleed. I have the Kent-Moore version, but it works the same way. It pulls a vacuum on the entire cooling system, removing air. Then when you open the fill valve, it pulls coolant into the system.
Most cars only need the procedure done once. Hard to bleed vehicles like the Disco, I will use the tool 2-3 times in succession to get all the air out.
Another feature of this tool, is that it helps you validate the repair. If you can't pull and hold a vacuum, then either the repair wasn't successful, or there is another leak in the system. On vehicles like Porsche, where coolant is $30 gallon, I like to know I won't have to open the system back up once filled.
