Are you sure it is the tranny and not a failed diff or axle? Put it in drive, look under the truck at both drive lines, is one of the turning, if so, there is you answer.

mike,
I did the check underneath, nothing moving. Could it be the torque converter problem, cause it seem like the tranmission dont receive any power at all.

Well, I was hoping it was a cheep repair like a dif, which is common.
Have you tried shifting the t/case just in case it has popped into neutral, other wise you are off to the tranny shop.
Try not to use a dealer if you can, it will/can cost more then going to a small tranny shop.

Mike,

I've sent the car to the workshop. Unfortunately, it is the torque converter. The inner gear of the converter(the fixed to the tranny shaft)is flatten. the mechanic had advise me to get a 2nd hand converter for replacement (50% cheaper). What could possibily cause the problem? is it safe to use the 2nd hand parts?

thanks

Could have been some sort of a flaw in the casting for the gear, it is hard to say.
I would go for a reconditioned or used t/c in a heart beat.
