How many miles on the engine? Have you had a compression/leak down test done yet? You may have a burned exhaust valve.

Mike, the engine was sold to me as only having 70,000 miles, this morning got up and now it will not fire off at all before it always started easy and idle great it just didn't take the trottle without backfiring through the intake.

If all you are dealing with is valves, go have the heads rebuilt, when back together do a good engine flush on your next oil change and you should be fine. I wouldn't buy another engine.
