The battery light has been coming on lately whenever it wants to and has made my truck shut off twice. With engine idling w/out batt. light on, 14v DC are present at battery. I haven't had a multimeter hanfy when the light is on to see what the voltage is then. Anyone got any ideas. I just ordered an altenator today. My experiences with Hummers (Army mechanic) the problem is the altenator when it starts doing that. It usually shuts off and stays off after stopping, turning off truck and restarting. Lately, it has remained on after starting again after it came on while driving. Please help, I would appreciate any pointers. Thanks

 

battery light is the alternator, we had some issues with them with bad parts and we caught some but others took a while to go.

follow the directions in GTR and you will be fine.
