Default Battery's Light Intermittently Goes On

My LR3 2005 HSE (90k miles) seems to be fine, but about ten minutes into any drive the red battery light comes on and stays on. They battery is new (5/2015) and car serviced well. I also tested battery and had decent volts:
Engine Off - 12.43v
Engine On - 14.16v
Engine On - with heavy load (pulling more amps from AC, lights and radio on) - 13.6v
Thoughts anyone?

well....it could still be the alternator....or likely the voltage regulator INSIDE the alternator...I just went through this with one of my vehicles

Thanks. But if alternator is bad how can the voltage be greater when engine running? Thanks again

Did you test the relevant fuses and fusible links? I've had some weird things happen when some of those have blown.

I wish I could explain it to you...but rather than b/s you ...my 96 D1 did the exact same thing......appeared to be chargng the battery when tested with a voltmeter...but the battery light would flicker and even the lights flicker intermittently...

voltage and watts are 2 different things...think of voltage as "potential" and watts as "power".....I'd better stop there.....lol
