Default A/C compressor is sticking sometimes?

Now another issue I have is with my AC compressor. When I turn it on sometimes I have the raise the hood and tap the clutch to make it engage. Also the blower fan relays keep "burning" out, and don't seem to allow for enough power for the fans to blow properly. Any ideas on this issue. Thanks.

Relays "burning out" usually mean fried contacts. Usually from too much current. Usually from fan motors staring to lock up, or same with AC compressor. Volt meter will tell you if 12 volts plus at the motors or the compressor clutch.

Now if only we knew which year and model of truck you had we could look at the RAVE electrical drawings and find connectors and ground points to check. But you can look that up in your copy.

It's a 1997 Range Rover SE 4.0. Is there a way to bypass the relays that won't cause a constant drain on the battery, or maybe different relay I can use. Thanks

You never by-pass a relay, you fix the problem, you ever see a Rover burn to the ground, it is not a pretty site.

The purpose of many relays is to use a small current to control a much larger one. Tempting the Rover gods to throw lightning bolts can, as DM mentioned, result in Disco Inferno.

The 134A level is where it should be, so any ideas on why it won't engage sometimes(and I have to tap the clutch with something to make it engage), and other times comes right on when I push the button? Thanks.
