Default A C E Noise

In Everyones opinions, how noisy is to noisy should the ACE Pump be? I took my car into to get this noise resolved { land rover agent} and they told me they had repositioned the pipes and told me they had reduced the noise. I got the car back and what do y a know same noise as when I took it in. they then proceeded to try charge me for the non existent repair and continued to explain that the ACE pumps are always noisy. mine cycles every 16 seconds, at that point makes a 2 second pump sound that is auidible over my radio, is this normal?

Regards Stephen.

I have never heard my ACE pump, I am one of the lucky ones. Have you ever changed the fluid and filter , does that help. I run synthetic power steering fluid and a bottle of Lucas power steering additive to keep mine quiet.

You should not hear any noise from the ACE pump--- that is--- unless it is getting ready to fail. Even though this is relatively rare, we haveshipped 6 pumps this year, and when they seize they also ruin the drive belt and can make a mess when the pump seal lets go. The best way to check it is to remove the sepentine belt, and rotate the drive pulley by hand. If there are any rough spots felt during the rotation it is time to replace it.

Oh!-- by the way.......the ACE system requires a special fluid we source from the dealer. And that is all that should be used in the system!
