Default Car will not start at the gas station

My daughter was at the gas station and the vehicle will not restart never
had this problem we tried tapping on the solenoid of the starter nothing I don't hear anything.. I have the car towed to my house I'm about to try to check the power on the starter to see if thereiis any power to to the soliniod is there a relay or fuse between or the neutral switch I don't know I could use some help someone told me the neutral switch might be causing it but to me on normal cars it sounds like the starter.it was totally fine until she drove it my service engine light is on but I don't think that has anything to do with it not starting

tough to help when you don't mention what kind of truck it is... Some general ideas are to check Neutral switch, try it in park and in neutral (if it is an automatic) Dash lights come on with the key? Headlights dim when you turn the key? Headlights work? Try taking it out of park and pushing it back in with a little force, sometimes that works...

I assume the starter doesn't make any noise (??) My first guess would be a dead battery, then a bad neutral switch, then a bad ignition switch... But that is a guess without more information.
