Default clicking (plastic-rubbery sort of clicking) + vibrating

disco II 2000 has definately not been running as well as normal.
The click-clacking comes into the picture when I give it gas, or when I put the brake on. When I coast, it the sounds die down, but I suspect they are still there.
It starts to vibrate when I get around 40 mph. It gets pretty loud! and then after I hit 45 it all seems to go away. (everything)
When I slow down again, it will do everything except backwards...
I just drove out here to LA from AZ, and when I left my house in AZ it wasn't doing anything but giving me a few vibrations here and there. I didn't think it was anything but a balance that I needed.

seems to me like an issue. If anyone knows of a good reliable place to have it looked at and fixed, in the LA-SO CAL area, please let me know.
I'd appreciate any help, I'm a student and need whatever help I can get. thx everyone!

Dom

haha... honestly I was really hoping I'd catch your attention this time, so you'd reply to me. I've read tons of your replies to lots of the threads you've contributed to.

ANYWAY, I have no doubt that is what the problem is, but I'm not to knowledgeable when it comes to autos, sooooo I'd rather ask someone that is. How long do you think I can drive around like this?? Like I said, I came all the way from AZ the other day; put 500 miles on it this last weekend alone. Not like i'm asking for trouble, but hey, just moved here. So It's going to be a week or so till I can get together some $. Besides, I need to find a place to fix it, right. I'm skeptical about taking it to the dealer.. So Its been parked for a few days with the exception of moving it in order to avoid tickets for parking violations, and I took it downtown today.
any suggestions of where to take it?

thanks mike,
Dom
