Wanted an 04 Disco for about 15 years but until now have been stationed places where it's either unrealistic or illegal (import laws) to have...Turkey, Alaska (no mechanic w/i 400 mi...I'm savvy but not stupid), Japan, Singapore. Just moved to St Louis in June and finally got one! Since then:

Replaced lifters, oil pump (VIN was not w/i the recall range), + batt cable, plugs/wires/coils=$4K

I'm hoping this isn't a picture of what the rest of my ownership experience will be like, although I learned a lot as the mechanic let me participate in everything. Don't mind some front-loaded work/expense getting the truck in order and other than the above, it is pristine...has the rarest Vienna Green paint/Tundra interior combo. My plans...it needs new shocks soooo:
