Its a mystery...I only ever need AC as its always hot here. However, the AC will work for between 15 minutes - 45 minutes in the morning, but after that forget it ... it just blows warm air. Anyone got any ideas which parts might be broken or what I could ask the mechanic to check?

Can you tell if the compressor clutch is engaging when it's in "failure mode"?

Also, when was the last time you had it checked/recharged?
