Default Coolant leak

i have a LR Disco 2, 2000

coolant is leaking and the fan is a little wobbly. The temp goes up and down. Yesterday it was getting pretty high but would come down. Today it was fine. But the coolant has all gone. I’m not very mechanical and someone said I need a new water pump. What else could resolve this ?

"Fine" and "the coolant has all gone" do not go together.
There are a lot of things that could cause the loss of coolant, but the wobbling fan points to the water pump as a likely possibility. DO NOT cut corners on the cooling system on these trucks, and DO NOT drive it in its current state.

mollusc is right but, he's not being forceful with his words for nothing; if you drive it like that you WILL be sorry. You could cause much more damage than you have now. Get it looked at and repaired before running any more. READ ALL that you can in the D2 section and become familiar with what you have and what may need to be done or you're just going to have problem after problem until it's too far gone to be worth fixing. Not to mention spending too much $ to the wrong mechanic who will take you for everything that he can b/c he knows that you know nothing.
