Yesterday's little tantrum... she decided to drop all her coolant on the highway. On investigation, a hose has separated from its location under the engine. As a total newbie to my '03 Disco II, what exactly am I looking at in these pics? That will help me identify what I have to order to get her back on the road. Please help!

You should really post in the D2 section of this forum so more people will see your question.
That is a known weak point of the cooling system. There's a sticky thread at the top of the D2 forum about inline thermostats. Order one of those and also replace the part that broke. There are several aftermarket options.

 

Thanks guys, I may well look into the inline thermostat as it makes sense. What is the part that is broken though? I am having trouble identifying it and it sits behind and below the OEM thermostat.

 

Read any of the dozens of threads on the cooling system in the D2 forum. There is a replacement part available from Carrs4x4, for example.
