Crank position sensor or something else
Hello. I have a 2003 d2 that didn’t start when we came out of the shopping center. Dry crank as long as I held the key but would turn over. After a while it finally started up then died after about 10 min. Got it started again, then died on my way home. Now I don’t even get a dry crank. A single click and then my lights go off and on as long as I hold the key.
today I came out and when I try it it does the same thing but my alarm goes off when I try to start.
I have replaced crank position sensor, the start motor is less than a year old, had battery checked (51% charge, full voltage) don’t think it’s alternator. My negative cable is a little bit worn but if my 90 Buick can start so should this.
one last thing I haven’t tried was a different battery. This one is an autocraft gold. I think it’s from 2018. Czech Republic.
any suggestions? My shop wants a 500$ deposit to have my truck towed there (non-running). Really odd I’ve never had them ask me that before. My starter is under warranty so if it’s that I’m good there. Just gotta get it to the shop.
