Dangling tubes.

Dangling tubes.
Hello all. I have just acquired a 1994 Discovery, 3.9 petrol V8 and auto box. It was a real bargain and as i intend some modifications for it, was not too concerned about the mechanics. It has the usual ****les; central locking, a little leak, sagging roofline and a little rust. But otherwise ok. Engine seems sound at 225000kms, although i find idle a bit too high and fuel consumption is high. Mixture might be too rich. I average 20l/100kms on 31" tyres and a 2" spring lift. It is awaiting its first major service( bought a bigger Purolator air filter and organic oil.). Going around the car once more this morning, I found this tube dangling in the left front wheelarch. Annother one that looks like a grease "nipple".
Does anyone know what they are, hoping the pictures are clear enough?
I have more detailed pictures but cant load them here and i cant find a reference in the manual.
Thanks in advance.
P.s: i owned a rover p5b coupe some years ago. Fascinating how long that Buick v8 engine has been around
