I am having a problem with my 97 defender 90. My dash panel lights will not illuminate when i turn on my headlights. I have checked all of the fuses (and luckily found the source of my air conditioner problem), but didnt have any luck with the dash lights. Also, my high beams work, but not my regular beams. I assume that i just need to replace the headlights to fix that problem, but was thinking that it could also be a larger electrical problem that needed t be addressed.

Any input would be appreciated!

 

First, don't replace your head lights, they aren't bad.
I would start with an inspection of the headlight switch.
