Default Did I make a bonehead tranny mistake?

I replaced my transmission in my D1 with a used one. I forgot to fill the torque converter with ATF before I put it on. Obviously it would not move at all when I tried to run it. I cannot think of any other reason I could not get it to sift other than no fluid in the conveter.

Any ideas is greatfully appreciated.

I would just recheck the fluid level. When the engine is running its turning the pump in the trans which would fill the torque converter. And with the transmission being used there was some fluid in the torque converter since its pretty much impossible to completely drain one without cutting it in half. Put it in park and let it idle and recheck the fluid level. If its full and it still won't move then you may have gotten a bad used trans.

It ended up being a bad forward pump, it should have pumped fluid to fill it but since it was not turning that was the issue. I took back and am waiting for a new one, we will see how that one works out.
