Really, they pop when turning and that's "fine"? Ok, I'm fine with that. Good luck.

I took them off and checked for any unusual movement of slip when turning.

This whole thread leaves me with the feeling you may have your terminology wrong.

I'm here to learn. To my understanding we have cv axles that go from the bearing incide to the middle of the differential!

The axle shaft is what the CV attaches to and they're attached at the ends of both solid front axle shafts. They're under the rubber boot on both front wheels. It's what allows the front wheels to pivot while powered (rotated) by the front differential. When they wear they pop or click especially when under load (foot on the gas pedal is load). Check the rubber boots for tears/separation/water and dirt (mud) ingress and broken bands. Your CV's are worn and you actually said so without realizing it....... the U turn/when turning right or left. The only other thing you'd hear popping or clicking from is the front drive shaft and if it's bad you'll soon find out. It too can snap/crackle/pop under load but you'd feel a vibration while traveling in a straight line and that is the difference between them.

Download the "Rave" landroverresource.com and that way we'll all be on the same page and you'll learn about your Disco.

In the op's first post, I read "I haven't done any off road at all" and thought it was a strange thing to add if you actually hadn't. But I see in your other threads you have. Water gets all kinds of places and brings in dirt while taking away grease. If you want educated advice it's best to provide all the info so people aren't guessing in the wrong direction
