I have a 2009 LR9. Does anyone know of a way to disable the backup sensor, ideally on an AS-NEEDED basis?

I got an aftermarket tow hitch installed (because Land Rover quoted me at $1,300 for the hitch vs $400 elsewhere). Works great as a hitch but when backing up while towing a trailer, it beeps at me constantly.

I'd just like to turn this off when towing and turn it back on when needed.

 

Would this be the internal speaker for the parking distance control beeping? If so, that module has a pair of speaker wires coming out so it could have a switch installed. See attached for 2001 Freelander and similar. Pink & brown wires. Yours may be different.
