Default Disco I Shaking at speeds over 70 Mph

The problem started in early June on a trip to beach with some friends. At around 70 MPH on an expressway, the road texture changed when crossing a bridge, which created a slight bump in the road. Hitting the bump caused the car to shake violently. The steering wheel itself was shaking as well. The problem only occurred every now and again when hitting similar bumps at that speed and was not consistent

After changing the steering damper and steering rod to stop the problem from happening again, it only worsened. Besides changing that, the only other work was a wheel alignment. Now the car will begin shaking if it gets to 70, and does not require a bump. If it hits bumps around that speed it begins.

It is, however, more consistent. Slowing to 50, then quickly stepping on the accelerator will stop the shaking, as well as taking my foot off the pedal when going over the aforementioned steps in the road.

Any help would be great...

I posted a thread a while back, something like "Have death wobble?" Lists what to check.
