Default Disco power loss and vibration

Disco was driving normally. Parked for 15 Mins. Starts fine, revs in neutral ok. but on road almost like it has a limiter because no power above certain revs in each gear. Goes flat - no acceleration - revs up but not speed. Any ideas? Clutch?
only 13 years young so should still have some life in her.
Terry

just looked underneath and I have at least one component leaking fluid (not engine oil) seems to be situated back left hand side of the engine - wasn't leaking before so presuming something is broken inside

I'm a recent Land Rover owner, so this isn't LR specific advice, just general mechanic advice. But that sounds a lot like a burnt clutch, or a clutch that isn't fully engaging. and yes, it can happen all of the sudden. Or perhaps the fluid that's leaking is from the clutch line/cylinders, that could cause the clutch to not fully engage, which might explain why the power seems to be limited at certain RPMs.

Thanks - I will give that a try. Took off the air intake electronics because I thought it might be an air flow problem but that really didn't make a difference. I think you might have hit the nail on the head because the engine will rev quite happily up to 4k revs when not connected to the drive chain but won't get above about 1.7 with the drive chain engaged before it starts vibrating and feels like I is running rough.
