Default Disco Series I 1997: Minor Electrical Glitch?

I would really be grateful for some assistance here... I am an old Landie fan and expert off-roader from way back (military involvement) and in my dotage, have recently acquired a very nice Series 1 Discovery (1997 Model) in extremely good condition, and less than 40,000 miles on the clock (60k kms).

Problem: Without any apparent misadventure, the rear wiper no longer wipes (but the water squirter does), the red light around the ignition key is now off, interior courtesy lights no longer come on on door opening/closing (although they can be switched on), and the windscreen intermittent wiper is also u/s (although speeds I and II can still be selected and working). Squirter works, but wipers do not activate. The audio alarms (bing-bong for seatbelts, key-in-ignition, lights-still-on etc) are also no longer active.

The fuses all look OK, although the configuration is a little confusing.

This is all a little disconcerting, and everything else in the electrical side is A-OK. The vehicle goes great, and I am really happy with it.

Can anyone help?

Panama Jack, check under the steering column after removing the shrouds (3 screws), that the looms are still plugged together. Check for their continuity inside the drop down compartment beneath the dash as well.
