I am the original owner of a '97 5MT Disco with 115K miles. The battery drains while the Disco is running, especially when lights, radio, etc. are on. I have cleaned all the ground points, had the alternator tested at a specialty alternator / starter shop and bought a new battery. I also picked up another alternator from pick-n-pull and the outcome does not change. While the battery shows good voltage when not running, roughly 12.7 volts, after started the voltage starts to slowly drop. Before installing the new battery, the disco actually died because the voltage was too low to support the running engine.

I have searched for suggestions on what else the problem could be without success. Please help! Unless the problem is fixed, I may wind up making a donation (tax deductible of course) to a local public broadcasting station.
