It seems the original size is from Bosch part # 72253WS but I can have it same part # in "Distance Plus". Witch is longer.

Any thoughts on it ?

The largest I have used is L40316 purolator

In the high mileage service sticky disco Mike suggests a KN filter that is not as long as the above.

Those are the only 2 I've tried. There is a picture if the Purolator in the D1 sticky section.

 

I use a Purolator PL30001. It's longer than stock. It's the same size as a Motorcraft FL1-A.
