The dreaded cylinder 6 misfire
I've done some reading and searching but I am a little confused at the moment. I have tried switching the #6 and #1 plugs at the coil and I am still getting a cylinder 6 misfire on my cheap reader. Now does this mean the misfire is actually on cylinder 1 now or is it on number 6 still? I guess I am confused as to what is telling the ecu that there is a misfire.
2004 D2, 140k miles, heads were done around 80k or so. new plugs, wires and new coil pack. compression test showed good numbers. The plug on 6 is definitely fouled with gas.

Anyone have an idea? I'd really like to figure this out.
If my scanner is still saying there is a misfire on 6 even those go I switched wires from the plug for 6 on the coil pack to one, and it still reading a misfire on 6.... is that actually on 6 or is it on 1 now?

Yes, I cleared the code and started it back up. Still says cyl 6. I pulled number 1 plug and it reeked of gas, but since it says cyl 6 misfire...
Everyone that's ever posted on this subject has says that the misfire moves with it or doesn't. I'm trying to determine how they come to that conclusion from the code reader and what it's telling them
