Default Driverside power seats only work with door open?!?!?

'96 D1 SE7

This is my first "problem" post, one of many.

Okay, the drivers seat doesnt move UNLESS the front driverside door is open! I do have the huge manual, but I wanted to see if anyone had this experience. I believe there is a short, but dont know where to begin....

First swap the switches, drivers side for passenger side, they are a exact match.
If the problem stays on the drivers side it is a wiring issue and I wish you the best of luck.
If the problem moves to the passenger side then the switch is bad and in that case who cares?

Okay, finally got around to chk all the fuses. I reviewed the RAVE and mapped out each fuse. I had to replace and to reorganize more than half of them. The person that tried to service the fuses did it all backwards.

Once it was all said and done, both the front seats now work....with the door closed!!!!

Now I just need to understand why my dash lights dont work.....then I can get to the 3 Amigos!
