Engine ECU bad on LR3?
Very nice read here, glad to hear you figured things out and got her running on your own. If you stay with this forum I think you may become an asset here
So how much did you pay for the salvage LR3? Im very curious and wonder if this is the way to go lol.
One thing though, you said roverland does not sell the ecu for the LR3? Assuming your referring to the engine ecu, they have them listed for $695. Not sure what the deal is, maybe they are new parts?: LR3 Engine ECUs

@Triarii Talks for the kind words. It has been a real chore and very difficult to find much help on it. FYI 2006, 88K LR3 HSE V8, $7,000. Roverland does have a price but they are "out of stock". If you call them they will not sell it to you. Not sure why they list it, perhaps a internet site issue? I also bought a D II for $1,875. This one had 90K and is a black beauty from hurricane Sandy. The interior was flawless, obviously the owner did not have kids. I just changed the starter and battery on this one and it was good to go. The salt water destroyed the amp and cd changer. I installed a new aftermarket radio. The transmission ECU which is next to the amp only had salt on the terminals and worked great after cleaning it up. I had to grind off the bolts to get them off. I will probably be doing this for a while as needed until I change out most of the lower bolts.
@Gah964 I called a bunch of places but found these guys in Santa Fe called Executive Automotive that had the equipment and new what they were talking about. I'm sure they are other folks but they were one of the sites listed as a independent Land Rover Dealer.
The LR3 is our 4th Rover and it is completely different from anything we have owned in the past. I am a pretty good wrench and electronics guy but this interlock programming thing is beyond me.
