Default Engine Misfiring? Discovery I

Hi,
I am looking at a '96 Discovery I on craigslist and it seems pretty good. One issue is that the check engine light is on. I red the codes, and it said there was a misfire in cylinder 5, and it also said some things about emissions (however the muffler and resonator is rotted out so I'd assume something along the lines of that is the issue). However, when the engine started and I drove it around I really didnt hear of feel anything. I had a really bad misfire on my 2L 4cyl Audi A5 and it shook the whole car and felt really bad, however I didnt notice any excessive shaking from the engine, pretty much just what I would expect from a 20 year old car in this condition. It also sounded normal. The owner reports that the plugs and wires were recently replaced, I assume to fix this issue, and my thoughts are that the CEL was just never cleared properly. So would you say its actually misfireing, and if so what do you think is causing it? Coil? Somehow bad plugs or improperly connected wires? Thanks for your responses!

if the price is right for you......a good tune up may be all you need to get going.
imho...I would start over and do all the fluids, filters, plugs, wires , check all the vac hoses etc...
