Default engine noise




just bought 1997 disco and it has a ticking noise from engine the seller told me that most disco thisyear make this sound is this true

it can be result of not good oil change and not good maintainence - but basicly it is true because most cars are not well kept.

I have a 96,and ticking sound ended up being real loud sound,head gasket was blown

well i think the noise is coming from the front of the motor behind the water pump it drive great its just that sound

That could be a timing chain.

could be a weak lifter or a rocker arm,never come across a bad chain yet
