Default Fender flares

Hey guys, I have a 00 disco with really bad looking fender flares. Rather than spending money on getting new ones I thought about painting them with duplicolor trim paint. I have that process down but I dont quite know how to get the fender flares off. It seems as though they are taped on. Anyone have a good way to get them off?

use painters tape on the paint and bumper and then paint them. what do you think dealers do before they send stuff like that to an auction?

Hi I just did mine.

Taped off the flairs and wiped them down with "no sand " then sprayed them with black Epoxy appliance paint both items from HomeDepot.

They look great

Good Luck

Well i dont want to half a** it so id rather take them off and paint them properly. Besides i dont was to get sodium triphosphate on the paint when i clean them. I will try getting them off first, hopefully i dont screw it up.

If you tape it off first there is no chance to damage the paint.

But I have been painting cars for years so I guess I just feel more confident
doing it...

good luck with the removal
