Just rolled the 95 D1 in the driveway that i traded a 74 scout for. Its my first land rover and this thing has 187,800 on it. She runs down the road pretty damn nice. Im checking all the fluids, i do the rover thing, check it cold in neutral and move it through the gears and it looks like there's 2 quarts to many in the tranny so thats first on the list. Next are the tires/rims it has 3 aluminum stock rims and the spare, so i start looking around and i find a place i can get black steelies for $58 minus shipping. Im wondering if the aluminum rims leak after time, thats why im looking at steelies, well that and im poor. So on the to do list is front diff fluid, rear diff fluid, tranny fluid and filter, coolant change, tcase fluid and then oil with a wix filter. Im just looking for info on anything else to look for, like i said its my first D1, thanks.

 

I have figured out the fluids to use. I'm looking at a disco I for $200 that has front and rear axles, brakes, trans, glass and doors. It is said to have 130,000 and i figure there's no reason to pass it up for that price.
