Default Freelander 2.5 Rebuild

Hello. I've decided that it's time to pull the motor out of my 2005 Freelander and rebuild it. I thought it odd that I could not pin down a rebuild kit for this car. I've probably got close to a hundred engine rebuilds under my belt and I have never encountered a more difficult one to obtain parts for, except through the dealer which I NEVER do. I've been informed that there is no such kit for this thing! I guess the next thing would be to find these parts piecemeal. Can anyone guide me to a reputable source (no, dealers are not reputable) that I can get all of the parts I need from without paying through the nose? I understand it's a LR and I know this will not be cheap, I'm used to that. Also, this is my first LR rebuild and if there are some surprises waiting for me inside I would really appreciate it if someone could clue me in. I've never ran from an engine and I wont now (I absolutely will not bring a vehicle to a shop) but a heads up is always nice. Thank all of you.

Hi and welcome. There is a Freelander section in this forum. You should post your questions there.
