Default Freelander low end torque loss

2 litre TD4. has lost all low end torque. Still runs but is now almost stopping when trying to go up hills. Problem has stumped me and mechanics. Anyone got any suggestions ??

Default RE: Freelander low end torque loss

Hi !

Sorry to hear that. If the vehicle is still going at a "normal" pace at higher engine speeds, I would suspect an electronics bug.
If you got an auto gearbox, is it shifting down properly when needed ?
Anyhow, I would start with a compression test and, if that is ok, I would go check if fuel arrives ok and at the right pressure, and then work my way further tru the electronics, but you will need a facility that owns a "TestBook" computer to do that.
Annette may know more than me about Freelanders: annette@landroverclub.net
I am more of a Land-Rover "Series" guy.

Regards,

Takeo.
