CV or front axle? WTHell??? 1997 Discovery I

My truck was making a grinding sound and seemed to come from the front wheel.
Mechanic changed right front CV or axle but the noise was still there again and to the point where the steering wheel pulled back quickly. Mechanic then replaced four joints, two on each side. They were 50 dollars each plus labor. Still doing it after just a few miles. I was on my way back to the shop and car grinded again and I could not move in a busy intersection. Tires not sticking out or anything. I put it in park and it would still roll. Pulled hand brake and it did not move. When I put in park made a grinding noise but can change to any position. Any ideas? I had it towed to a different mechanic to see his opinion. Frustration weeks of waiting for first mechanic to do it and then still bad and hundreds of $.

 

Update: What he installed broke. He will fix. Under warrenty.
