Front passenger regulator woes
2004 discovery with an issue. I had to replace the regulator due due a broken nylon part. The usual story. I reassembled everything and it worked really well. Sealed up the door and went on my way. Day later I'm testing the window again just because I am like that. After a few up/down runs of perfection, I spot impending doom. I notice that on the way up the window starts to go up at faster and then slower speeds. Hmm that isn't normal. So then i roll it down again halfway. Then I try to roll the window up and the window doesn't move. Sounds like an air wrench wrapping sound when it hits the torque limit. I thought it was maybe the motor not meshing with the gear on the regulator so I took it all apart and reconnected to the motor to the regulator. Same sound when i reassemble, not even one successful run. The gear on the motor doesn't look worn or stripped. The motor looks meshed together with the regulator. What could it be? I am able to manually lift the window up, albeit with some effort.
