Fuel Pump Relay Defender TD5
Hi,
I can't seem to locate the fuel pump relay for my Defender TD5 2005 x-tech. Under the driversseat there are 4 relays lined up. From left to right 4 yellows and at the right side a black one.
There is no clue given to which one handles the fuel pump in the literature I can find.
At the front, before the gear stick, there is a line-up of 5 relays, 4 yellow and a brown one. Any chance it's one of these?
All help much appreciated!
Best regards,
Mike

Mike,
I'm in the States, so I am not that familiar with your vehicle. The diagram shows the relay is under the R/H seat, next to the fuse box, on the end. The wire colors are blue/purple white/purple brown/orange purple/white. Its shows as a yellow relay. If you locate those wire colors, you should have the correct relay. Terminal 87 gets its power from fuse 4 (20 amp) (seat fuse box). If you pull that fuse and that cuts power to terminal 87, you've found it. Also remember with both R/H and L/H drive vehicles, It may be on the other side of the vehicle. ibis1

Thanks Ibis,
I found the right one now! It was the one under the right hand seat, most to the left.
Funny thing was that after removing it, the engine would still start, although I could no longer hear the fuel pump turning on. Seems the engine can produce quite some suction from the pump.
Anyway, thanks again!
