Default Fuel System Leak? Can't find it...

I took my 2000 Discovery to two local dealers to solve the Check Engine light mystery. Neither have been able to so I'm turning to you all for help. The code is the "Gas Cap Code" that keeps faulting. Both dealers agreed. The first dealer completely replaced the gas cap and the housing they also performed a "smoke test" during which they found no leak. When the light continued to turn on and off I took it to another dealer. They said they could not find the leak during the smoke test either. At the time I took it to the two dealers it was still covered under an aftermarket warranty. It is no longer covered and I don't trust either of the dealers to fix the problem on my dime when they couldn't under warranty.

What is the next most likely part to be faulty causing this fault over and over???

What is the exact code??? We need that to be able to help you.
Sounds like you may have one of the evap codes, but very few mean you have to replace the fuel cap.
