Default Gearbox Cooler Hose

Hi,
I have a leak in my gearbox inlet cooler hose. It is right at the connector, I can see the hose to connector has lost its crimp and is wobbly.

My question is, could I just splice a new rubber hose and connector in, instead of replacing the whole metal tube, rubber hose, and quick connector?
I would splice rubber-hose to rubber-hose, not to the metal pipe.
I think the line is pressurized, so I do not want it to pop out, if I splice.

I have single ear hose clamps, do you think that will hold the pressure?
I would just need a splice fitting.

Thanks!
