Default gearbox warning signal

Has anyone had experience troubleshooting the green S and M (snow and manual) lights flashing indicating a gearbox electrical problem? plus I have a short in the steering wheel causing the horn to blast at inappropriate moments.

thanks

First thing to check you battery cables, are they clean and tight? Then check the voltage, 12.8 at idle and 13.6 to 14.4 volts at 2000 RPM's. If you have low voltage the M/S lights will flash.
